Hello all.

I am an L-2 visa holder with the following expiry dates:

Husband's L-1 visa expiry date : Jan 26, 2006
My L-2 visa and I-94 expiry dates : July 25, 2005
My EAD expiry date : August 10, 2005

Questions:

Understand from Dept of State that we need to renew EAD 6 months in advance, but that means, I need to renew my EAD before my L-2 visa.

Based on your previous expriences, which one should I renew first? L-2 visa or EAD??

Apply for Extension of stay ( I assume that you are in the US) and once you have receipt from BCIS, apply for EAD renewal atleast 4 months before the expiry of the current EAD.
It means apply for Extension of stay in Jan 2005 and wait for Receipt Notice from BCIS and then apply for EAD renewal with all other documents and copy of Receipt Notice. Hopefully you will get extension of stay and renewed EAD together.
