A-140 receipt date:7/17/01
RFE for updated employment letter generated: 6/26/01
RFE received by lawyer: Around 7/3/01
RFE replied by company: 7/9/01
RFE response dispatched by lawyer: 7/18/01
RFE response received by INS:7/23/01
Approval date:8/3/01
Amended 140 still pending (was not approved yet! looks like it doesn\'t matter)
Talked to IIO on 8/1/01: very nice officer-she said max of 1 week
Talked to a stupid IIO on 8/3/01 (yes the date of approval around 3:45pm ET - 15 mins before closing) - she said 4 to 5 weeks. But it was approved the same day and approval notice sent on the same day (Fri,Aug 3); i still have not received it yet!

Expect approvals within 14 calendar days of the receipt of RFE response by INS!!

Expecting to go to Houston INS office for stamping soon.
Will post the stamping experience as soon as its done.

Kris Sarman, Congratulations. Enjoy ur freedom. Thanx for posting all your details. I am also from IGATE. My RFE has not been received by LD even after 3 weeks of AVM.

dont worry - but once the response is finally got by the INS it takes utmost 14 days to get ur 485 approval.
