Kids got greencard without passport stamping

For self and spouse, they sent the approval notices I-797C asking to go to local INS office for stamping in Passport. But for my both kids (Under 12 years) they sent directly the cards with letter I-797D. The photos they used were from the I-485 application. Anybody else got similar response from INS?
I am confused as I understand that everybody (including kids) have to go to INS office and get stamped in the passport. Then they will mail the cards.
Also to be noted is that the cards say that there is no fingerprint available.
Will this create any problem in future for travelling etc.? Shall I just keep quite or what do I do?
We have an appointment scheduled for me and my spouse on 7th October for stamping.
Please give your experience/ opinions on this matter.
Our 485 applications were processed and approved by Vermont service center.

We all got our passports stamped last week at the Dallas office. My son (12 years old) had his passport stamed and gave fingerprints and pictures for the card.

I recommend that you ask a lawyer! Better be safe than sorry! Things are different at the port of entry!

Good Luck!

Kid's Green Card

Our I-485s got approved on 10/1/04 and we are waiting for the approval letters. My son's (12 years old) status was changed to case no. not found. Today his online status changed again and the Current status is:

On October 4, 2004 after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready.

So even he will be getting the card without stamping I guess.

Hi "allthebest",

Same happened in my case. When my case was approved, my daughter's case number was missing from the database for a couple of days. After that I got the same status and we already got the plastic card for my daughter. So no worries, they get the card before us :)

Hi Jagapathy,
I was in the same boat and I went for stamping today. The lady at the counter said kids don't need stamping and she was very nice to us. they get the plastic card directly. So I don't think you need passport stamping for kids. Kids get card directly when the case approved within three weeks. We received plastic card for my daughter within a week of approval and on the side it says "no fingerprint available". Hope this helps! so not to worry!!

I just came to know you need seperate appointments for each person with Infopass.

Good luck!!
