Kids biometrics?

Hi,

I filed I-140/485 concurrent in December 2003.
Soon after that me and my wife were fingerprinted.
My son (then 10 year old) was not fingerprinted at that
time. I've though he does not need to and that's OK.

I-140 was approved, 485 pending.

Now I've received biometrics appointment for him
(he is now 11).

I'm a bit puzzled by NSC behavior. Do kids need to be
fingerprinted? If yes, why not simultaneously with us?
Was it not needed for i-140, but now it is needed for 485?
Or had the regulations changed recently?

Yes, my daughter who is 7 was done Boimetrics Code2 whichis fP of one finger and picture taken unlike me and my spouse who got Biometrics Code 3 (FP of index finger, all fingers and picture).

I think every one has to do the code 2 (Photo + FP) to get the card after the approval..

Approval notice will say, card will be mailed ....so and so date.....

So You don't need to go to local INS to get the passport stamping..

I also received Finger print notice for my Daughter (7 years old ) after 140 approvel.
