K3 visa question: when do I need to leave

Hello,

My husband (USC) filed the I-130 for me (Canadian citizen) in August and it looks based on the uscis site that it will be processed in mid-Feb. I took work so I'll be able to feed myself but I have to stay in Canada to finish out my contract until early May. When we have our interview (which I'm assuming will be sometime in the late winter or early spring?), if I am issued a K-3 visa, do I have to go to the US immediately or is there a deadline by which I need to enter the US? We plan to file for AOS once I am there.

I 'think' the K3 is valid for 2 years...therefore you must enter the states within 2 years of its issuance. The K1 is valid for 6 months (I had my interview in the beginning of April and arrived at the end of July), and Im sure the K3 is much longer. When you get your visa though, it will clearly state when it is valid until.
