K3 verses Immigrant visa...

Hi, which is better for my US wife sponsor to apply for..a K3 or direct GC..aren't the processing times the same..like 6 months? Ty in advance..

There are situations when you aren't eligible to apply directly to GC, the rest there are currently none.

For most people, CR1 immigrant visa is the best option (cheaper, less paperwork and GC received quicker).

I would advise to stay just on the IR1/CR1 course. Why complicate things?

sorry, I meant CR1 immigrant visa....I am not married yet..the woman I intend to marry..I applied for a K1 visa like 4 years ago..it was approved by USCIS 4 years ago..but my fiance..made a typing error..she wrote single instead of divorce..I passed all my medicals..everything the embassy needed..only that..so they sent it back for correction after I showed them my divorce papers..I have not gone back to the embassy since then..my question is..can I get the same K1 since nothing has changed up to now..and I have not traveled to the states on any other visa..I didn't pursue it coz we kinda broke up now we are together again..although not in person..what can I do? do I have her call USCIS?..I can do the medicals again no problem..but do I have start all over again! Ty

P.s.the K1 was approved but not issued..or stamped on my passport..

At most consulates. Worst case, it should be under 12 months.

sorry I meant CR1 immigrant visa..so that's better like six months correct..

Since that was 4 years ago, I am guessing that case is closed now. If you are married, K-1 bears no meaning for you.

I am not married..my status right now and hers has not changed since then..so cant she tell em we were waiting all this time patiently..coz she or I didn't hear anything from them or the embassy! maybe they misplaced it or something!

US consulates will usually close cases if the beneficiary takes no action for 12 months. Just start with a fresh K-1 application.

I cant..coz of the must meet within 2yrs rule..so I thought better to fly her out to me and marry her..but first i will have her call them..first and play dumb..dunno about them rules..we were waiting coz texas backlogs and stuff..they wil find my file..coz maybe they didn't send it back to the embassy..if they did the embassy didn't call me
