K1 Visa Questions

Hi all,

I am new to the forum. My divorce will be final in about 6 months, and fortunately, I have met the person I should have married to begin with. She is a Moroccan citizen and a resident of Spain. I am a US citizen residing in Michigan. I have read up a little on the K1 Visa and it seems straighforward enough. My questions are:

Does the interview paperwork go to the U.S. consulate in Spain or Morocco?

I figured I'd ask here before trying to get an answer out of the government...

Any other advice on this process? I anticipate my divorce being final by early summer next year, so should I start the Visa process a few months before that?
 
Unfortunately you do not have that luxury. The day you submit your I-129F, you have to be willing and free to marry. In other words, your divorce must be final on that day.
