K1 Denied and next step

Hello Everyone,
My K1 visa has been denied. The immigration sent me a form called I-290B which I can use to appeal for the denied case.I have a few questions related to the processing time and appeal process.

-If I appeal for the case, does the visa processing time start again or does the processing time continues for the case once the new evidence is submitted?

- Should I re-applying for the K1 or provide additional evidence which I can do now?

Any help would be appreciated.
