Just submitted N-400 but will be abroad during the Naturalization Process

I am legal permanent residence of more than 5 years, and have met all eligibility to apply for US citizenship. I have just submitted the N-400 form (in Aug15th), and waiting for fingerprint appointment. Here's my challenge, I'll be going oversea for 1 year assignment for a US company in October, while I still need to go through the interview and oath. I do have plans to come back within 6 months to ensure my continuous residence status. I'm hoping I'll be able to complete the fingerprint process before I leave. If so...

1) Can I schedule or reschedule the interview for a delayed date (say 6 months from now)?
2) Can I ask to take the oath on the same date right after I pass the interview?
3) Can I take the oath perhaps in an US Embassy abroad? (maybe just wishful thinking..)
4) For anyone who has been through similar situation or is an expert on the matter, what is the best course of action on my part on completing the naturalization process while I take the oversea assignment?

Thanks so much in advance!

1. When you get the interview notice, you can request a reschedule, but there is no guarantee of getting a specific date range.
2. Only if they offer same-day oath at your location AND you're approved right after the interview. But extensive travel during the process without an approved N-470 will increase the chance of your case needing supervisor review, which could delay it by some days or weeks.
3. No.
4. Apply for the N-470.

Thanks for the reply, Jackolantern! A couple followup questions:
1) Can I request for specific location for interview that offer same-day oath?
2) I thought N-470 is for those who plan to stay outside of the states for more than 1 year. If I plan onvisiting for 1 week every 5-6months during the naturalization process, would I still be questioned on my continuous residence status?
3) How long will it take to get N-470 approved and will it difficult to file from oversea?

try a common sense check. If any applicant was given an option to pick the DO they can apply in... What would have happen to the USCIS processing? You send your application to one of the hubs (AZ or TX) and they forward it to the DO assigned to your address.
