I just receieved my Fingerprinting appointment notice, can I go immediately istead of waiting for the actual date? Would going early speed up the overall process or would that confuse the system?

I know from past precedent in places like SF district office, you can do earlier, but they usually ask why and you need to have a compelling reason, like business travel etc. But in the end it will not change things as things go by Priority date and not the date you did FP. If I were you unless I have a strong reason, I stick to the dates they give. less confusion and less bargaining with USCIS staff.

Happy fingerprinting!

I received my FP notice on 12-22-07 and did the fingerprinting the same day. The reason I did this is that my FP date was 1-17-08 and I will be away on a business trip that day. I just showed up at the ASC and aked if I could do it...it was a Saturday afternoon so it was not a problem at all. I agree that everything depends on your PD, so moving up the FP date may not affect your case at all. The only thing it does is provide more time to the USCIS and FBI to get all your background checks etc. completed before your number comes up for an interview.

yummyk where did you go for your FP? I 'll be travelling on the day I'm scheduled for FP and need to go in earlier. Thanks
