Just got stamped in Newark: Terrrrrrrrrrrrible experience!

Just went back from Newark NJ (970 Broad St) with the stamp in my passport.

Mixed feeling: relief and anger, alltogether: :) :( .

My advice to everyone: if you don't want to be frustrated with CIS, don't put any hope for anuthing good from them. Just expect worst and get what you get.

What actually happened?

1. We've come there with my daughter at 6:30 and waited till 8. There was a small line of some "privileged" people that were allowed in at 7:30.
Fro the start we had to fight for our right to be processed today as it was stated in approval letter: "come any Wednesday from 8 to 12".
"No", they say. "We now introduced the InfoPass on-line appointment system and since Monday nobody will be accepted w/o this appointment".
We had to talk to the superviser and finally we got our tickets.

2. We went to the counter and gave fingerprints, then advised to wait.

3. Soon we were called and requested to surrender my old and current EAD's and AP's. It's all depends on a clerk; mine accepted 2 EAD's and the statement "This is all I got".

4. And this comes the most intersting part: THEY STARTED FIRE DRILL!
Full scale fire drill with every person pushed out off the building. It was committed in slow and laisuy manner so it took then one hour to complete.
Then happened the most upsetting thing: not everybody was let to go in.
Many guys had once again to fight to prove thath they have a ticket that they already started to process. Some missed their number call because of that. The young woman that came to extend her expired green card and got a #15 (eventually she had to come at about 5:30 at least) was called 5 times while she was still outside.

5. Then they announced the lunch break for 45 minutes. Luckily 2 or 3 officers remained working.

6. We were processd right after the lunch. I had to run for my daughter to the cafeteria whan our # was called. The rest was easy.

I had probably missed it but I don't remember that anybody ever posted this here: at the time of stamping THEY PERFORM THEIR FINAL BACKGROUND CHECK (SECURITY CLEARANCE). It took a lot of time so I left that "hospitable" office at ~ 1:30 p.m.

I just happy that this is OVER. I wish you all to get to the same point avoiding all the complications I experienced.

Best to everybody.
