just got I140 approved, but with old name, what can i do, TIA

hi guys:

just got my I140 approved couple days before, RD 2/00, more documents asked on 9/00, sent out on 10/00, apprvoed 11/13/00,

my company is accquired by another one on August 4th. still in same location doing same work, but name changed, my lawyer do put new documents about transition in Oct\'s document, but somehow on my approval notice INS still state my old company name.

well i have following question if any of you can help,
1. is it necessary to do an amendment I140?
2. if yes, how long it will take
3. if yes, can i file I485 at same time, because my PD is current.

I was in the same boat. We filed 485 with old I140 and then filed amendment of I140. Currently, awaiting approval of I140...

Probably, you can file for amendment of I140 get the receipt and then send that as part of 485 along with the current approved I140 ... just a suggestion...

do we have to redo i485 if we refile i140 bcos of company name change? i am more than a 14 into my i485 process?

thanks a lot man! i will ask my lawyer for his opinion, and i will let you guys know.

another info i got is from www.immigration-law.com, news section, there is one news metioned about NSC regulation about this kind of situtation, worth to read.
