Just by Filing AR11 can I get plastic card at my new address

Hi Folks
Please help!!!!

I am moving to a new house from apartment.
My passport is stamped and I am waiting for pastic card.
I am planning to file AR-11.
My Q is: Do I need to file AR-11 only or do I need to do something else also

1) File AR-11 immediate
2) Call BCIS to confirm address change
3) File Post office address forward request form.
4) Get in touch with your old apartment people, just in case if they get plastic.

Post Office people DO NOT FORWARD the plastic cards.
Just by filing AR-11 and calling 1-800 # will NOT solve your purpose. INS will send your plastic to old address.
You need to file a separate form for getting Plastic Card at new address. Ask your attorney about that form.

Other option is if u can extend your stay at old apt. for a month or two.
Just by spending some dollars if you get the Plastic, it is worth for 10 years:) :)

Do BCIS send plastic card to Post Box in Post office or
Office address other than residentiat address.

Card will not be sent to PO BOX address. There is seperate form for change of address to get the green card. Please check it out.
Also Call CIS number 1-800-375-LATE
 
BCIS will send plastic to the address you specified when you filled a form while passport stamping.
I guess BCIS does not do it, some private company does it for BCIS.

I don't have clue about "Post Box" or "Office address"; Yes but one of my friends had given his Lawyer address only when he filed his I-485, and all the correspondence (including EADs, Adv Parole's) were sent to his lawyer Generally Lawyers do not want us to give his/her address for correspondence, guess by spending some extra bucks u can do it:) :)

Can anybody tell which form I need to file for getting Plastic Card at my new address???

Called BCIS but looks like they also do not know a lady picked up phone and she told that I will have to wait for one year and if u not get the card by that time, u need to Restamp again. I told I am changing address, she told u need to file AR-11

Maybe AR-11 just goes to KY for address change for security reasons


Not very sure, perhaps u need to file G-731:confused: :confused:
 
Actually you can do another thing send in form 731 which has a section for address change.
So AR11, 731, call and change and Have mail forwarding in the Post office. This is all you can do and hope for the best that the card reachs your new address.
Have seen posts of people getting their card forwarded to the new address.

I have seen people who get plastic card's mail FW and some people who did not get their mails FW. Depends on your post office. Plastic card envelop looks like having a credit card envelop.
You need to file form 731 V second page. You can file at at anytime, you don't need to wait for 90 days.
So u need to file AR-11, call 1-800#, FW ur address thro' post office,
INS may either send card at ur old address or new address, so
keep checking ur mails at old address also;
