Hi Friends,
Actually I just Applied for Canadian Residence as Software Engineer , Please give some inputs on how long it takes and hows the Canadian Consular are processing means how lenient they are , As I calculate I secure 72 points.
Please help me for that

the entire process should not take more than 16-18 weeks, I got my final response from the Buffalo embassy in 12 weeks. Send your police certificate on time, later when you get a request to pay your landing fee send the medical on time, it\'s pretty fast unless you are called for an interview, which is a mere formality

Anil..... did you get called for an interview ? I have been called foe an interview..... which adds another 7~10 months extra to the whole process.

Does any body have any information pertaining to the Date of Birth Certificate for the Canadian Immigration. If I did not have Date of Birth Certificate issued. Just like in the case of U.S. Immigration Can I procure Non availability Certificate and submit it along with the Affidavit of Birth? Can any one please help me in this issue.

I got my Canadian Residency based on my DOB mentioned in my school leaving certificate....yes police certification is required.

nope. they ask for a PC (police certificate), where do you wanna get the PC from is your call to make but if you live in the states it\'s a good idea to approach FBI for the PC than your home nation which in all probablity might not be accepted by the Canadian embassy specially if it\'s a third world nation.

if you do not have a formal DOB cert., all that you should do is show a formal document like a college transcript which displays your DOB on it and attach a letter stating that in the nation that this educational transcript or certificate originated from it is considered equivalent to a DOB certificate, the Canadian embasys will accept it!
