After most of the guys files in I-485, they will pull "shutter down" for next 4-5 years by moving back PD to May 8, 2001...

All Employment Preference categories except for Third “Other Workers” have been made “Current” for July. This has been done in an effort to generate increased demand by Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) for adjustment of status cases, and to maximize number use under the annual numerical limit. However, all readers should be alert to the possibility that not all Employment preferences will remain Current for the remainder of the fiscal year. Should the rate of demand for numbers be very heavy in the coming months, it could become necessary to retrogress some cut-off dates for September, most likely for China-mainland born and India, but also possibly for Mexico and Philippines. Severe cut-off date retrogressions are likely to occur early in FY-2008.

I hope they will have some system to approve the old cases with older priority dates first. Otherwise the most recently filed cases will get approvals before anyone of us that have been on this forum for a long time!
My two cents. I think they are trying to avoid people affected by backlog to complain about the fee hike scheduled for July. Thus, making everyone current gives all the opportunity to wait.
Sadly, I think the effect is another brick wall like the Labor certification. Flooded and messy.

I am not sure why "Other Worker" category is NOT current but..My guess is..
I am not sure why "Other Worker" category is NOT current but..My guess is..there are NO thousands of guy waiting for I-485 filers waiting PD to be current by which USCIS will have "Monetory" gains...or generate Revenue..

Guys, if this situation is really just a way for USCIS to make more money, why didn't they wait until August to make almost all current. The new outrageous fees will start July 31. Right now, applicants still have 45 days to apply for I-485, EAC, I-131 paying the old fee. Can anyone explain this?
