Still confused what to do Concurrent 485 or CP.

My dates are same as yours. What is ur status?? Did you apply for 485??

No we have not applied for 485, still applied for CP. Though the way things are going , wondering if it would make sense to do 485.

Keep us updated of the progress.
 
CP-AOS

I opted for CP while filing i-140 in June'02. I thought the 140 will be approved in 3 months. But, nothing happened. So, I filed AOS with the receipt of 140 in september. 140/EAD/AP all pending for approval. In my situation, i feel getting EAD to take part-time job is better than going for CP -- with uncertainty.

As I understand your case:
1. your I-140 is still pending approval.
2. You filed I-485 to get EAD ?
3. You are looking for a part time job....????
Does it mean your employer who sponsored your I-140 does not have a job for you right now ??? Forgive me asking this..Are you out of job ??
4. Can you change job (take up part-time) on EAD ?? Are you planning on using AC21 (portability) provision ?? How can you do this ??
5. 180 day period : is it from the time you filed your I-140 or from the time you filed your I-485 IN YOUR CASE ?? Did you get the advise from your lawyer ??

My answers,
1) 2) Yes
3) No. I am with my sponsoring employer. I don't have intentions to take a part-time job, for now. I should do more research on that and if it is permissible by my employer, i will go for that.
4 & 5:- I read from one of the leading attorney's chat that the 180 days is counted from the RD of 485 application(even in the case of concurrent filing). it is not counted from 140's RD. My lawyer knows only to delay the filing process... Nothing else.

Is it not a good idea to wait (joining another job) until ur I-140 is approved, regardless of 180 day clock ??
