July 2 Receipts..latest?

Hi Gettingourgc,

I have read a few posts on this forum stating all applications sent to NSC are getting transfered to TSC for data entry and adjudication. You are one of the perfect examples to that point.

It is good that you have your receipt number, you will be getting your Receipt and EAD pretty soon :)

What does I-765 approved notice mean. Is that for 'EAD's in the mail' or is that another step/update/process on the I-765 application.
Also wanted to ask, for some reason that I do not know I did not apply for AP. Is it advisable to apply post EAD approval, pre 485 approval at all. If I have to travel I have a valid H-1 that I do not want to forgo until the 485 is finally approved.
Thanks

My application reached on July 2nd. I did not receive the reciept and checks are not cashed. Are there anyone still waiting for reciepts like me?

If you plan to stay on H1 until you get 485, then you may NOT justify applying for AP. The research I did regarding AP tells me, AP is advantageous when
1) H1 is no longer valid
2) H1-revalidation is riskier and one does not wish to go thru the (messy and often dangerous) process of revalidation.

On the other hand, AP has its own disadvantage:
1) Fees for applying and fees for renewing...

So, IMHO, you did a good thing.

Use of AP stongly recommended after three months of filing I-485

Very important: As per my attorney, once you apply I-485, its good to travel with your H1-Visa for three months.( Three monhts because it will take that much time for USCIS to give you AP if you have applied ) After three months its highly advisable to use AP instead of H1 Visa travel.

Strong reason to follow above ( use AP only, after 3 month of filing I-485 to travel ) is, as per I-485 rule, once you apply for AOS, you cannot leave the country and for some reason if you have to leave the country use AP document.

Always to be on safer side....
