Judiciary Chairman Hits Administrative Errors

Good! So now we have three senators on our side - Clinton, Schumer and Leahy !

Let's hope something comes of their efforts to improve the situation.

While on the surface these letters seems to bring the backlog cases to the spotlight, I don't see anything in them that directly addresses what we don't allready know. All that Leahy and Clinton have asked for is what USCIS plans to do about the backlog. It's all part of the political process of trying to get answers from the USCIS head how they will deal with the backlog without going a step further and demanding that USCIS do more than just their planned efforts that are allready known.

Democrats always love big governments, and then higher taxes to support the expenditures. Republicans would love to outsource this work and sack government workers.

Senator Chuck Schumer offered a solution - that USCIS should re-emply retirees who would not need training. He said that he will introduce legislation for this, and proposes that by 4 July next year we should all be able to take part in oath ceremonies. Optimistic, but at least he is putting forward a plan.:)

Now that's what I like to see..politicians taking action, instead of asking what allready has been known.

While Republicans also love big government, running up debt to support the expenditures.

Yes, the Republicans love to outsource work via no-bid contracts to companies owned or managed by their friends and families.

i would prefer economy that is growing, more jobs, budget surplus and higher taxes rather than lowering the taxes and saving 300 or 500 dollars and being jobless after that with growing deficits.

"penny wise , dollar foolish"

Depends on what side of the fence one is at that point in time. Most young Americans are democratic sympathisers while at college (and would like subsidized education and don't mind higher taxes) and later in life, when they get in to top income tax brackets they want tax cuts and lower fiscal budgets even if that means cutting funding for education.

i would prefer .... budget surplus and higher taxes ....
