Guys start sending emails to John Kerry as his website has policy regarding immigration. I pasted here what I wrote to him....do something otherwise we wont get out of this tunnel.

"Kerry,

I think it’s worth it to bring your attention to the fact that on your website under the immigration policy I don’t see something for legal working folks. After going through all the legal process and all kinds of labor approvals they are waiting for the decision. There is a law suit filed regarding that backlog. More then 5000 folks signed that petition and now it’s an officially filed law suit against Immigration.

Here are the links of the web site where you can get all the information and also can contact them regarding more information. If you know what is like to be an educated person living a life without knowing whether they are going to stay here or they have to leave the country or if tomorrow they loose their jobs they have to leave the country just because immigration is taking so long and having no security around you will put something on your website under the immigration policy. As everyone knows that congress passed the law that these educated immigrants should get decision on their cases within six months, that now a dream which is not going happen. Nowadays it’s taking 3 to 6 years.

Please feel our pain and do something about it and help us to sleep in our beds peacefully whether you get elected or not. If I die today my wife has no status in this country, is this fair to the folks who are contributing to the economy with tax dollars and working hard everyday to make this country a leader in the world.

My I 485 is pending for last 9 months and now they are saying I should wait another 2 years even though my receipt says I will get the decision within 4 to 6 months. I can’t find another type of job, I can’t upgrade myself, I can’t do business, without me my wife has no status and life is on hold because INS or BCIS can’t process our cases on time.

Please do something or support us in any way you can. I am very happy to see some thing about immigration on your site. Are you planning to reduce this backlog in the future? Are you planning to put more funds to reduce the backlog?

Thanks and Regards
"

Here's my contribution : ALthough I'm not yet into I-485 stage, but still I sent him an email :

Hi Kerry,

I'm writing this long mail to you believing that one person CAN make a difference !!!
Be it me, who can just write to you OR Be it you, who can actually take action on it.

I'm a great fan of yours. Although I'm not eligible to vote for you, but I really wish and pray that you become the next President to lead this great country. As your speeches and
your stand on various issues suggest, you are a fair minded person. I would like to bring
your attention to another issue that is affecting hundreds of thousands of lives in this country. And those lives are not of those who, in the first place, put their lives at risk and enter this country illegally.

These lives are of those who are some of the most educated and talented persons in the world and those who chose to make their future along with that of USA. Those who take every care that there is no black mark on their academic, social and professional life, just to make themselves eligible to come to this country LEGALLY, to make their and their loved ones' life better by toiling hard and contributing towards the Economy and cultural diversity of this nation. Most of them are those who studied in their home countries and did not put a burden on the education system of USA. Those who come to this country and immediately start making enormous contributions to its further development.

I'm talking of LEGAL immigrants who are waiting for the decision on their Permanent Residence Applications- I-485 from USCIS on Employment basis.

Here's their plight :

Those of us who choose to make this country their home have been promised by the Congress to be given a decision within 180 days. I understand some of the bottlenecks in doing it fast, particularly for security reasons, but the long waits they are being subject to is most politely said, Nightmarish !! They have to keep themselves hanging for anywhere between 3 to 6 long years. To make life a little more difficult for them, they can not move up the professional ladder, they can not accept better paying jobs, they can not change professions even if they are capable of and are being offered by many corporations, they can not even change their job title. They have to keep running round and round to USCIS offices for renewing their Employment Authorization Cards, Travel documents. They have to get fingerprinted twice or thrice before they get their decision(According to FBI/USCIS, the Fingerprints of an alien expire in 15 months - Isnt it it a coverup for their inability to keep records safe for longer periods?) . Their spouses can not work elsewhere or they wont be able to show the "Proof of living together" to the USCIS. If they lose their job even for a few days, they can not sleep for the fear of being rejected by USCIS, unlike Illegal immigrants who just keep themselves underground all the time. All that when the Congress Promises to do it in 6 months.

( To make my point here, I would use a hypothetical scenario, where all of those who are suffering, decide to leave this country in a day. I'm sure, You can imagine what would happen to the Economy!! ).

My question to you is : Is it fair for a country that is seen as a symbol of freedom by the entire world to squeeze us so hard? If your answer is NO, Please make this issue as a part of your agenda once you become the President and make this country the best place to put our talent to use. Please make sure that the wish of the Congress is fulfilled and these hardworking souls are allowed to breath freely !!!

****Many of us have already filed a lawsuit signed by around 5000 affected lives believing that the judicial system of this country is still fair !!!!

Wishing you victory in Nov'2004

Thanks

AB

If you (both of you) truly want to sound educated, I recommend using the "Spelling and Grammar" feature under Tools in MS Word, or having a couple people proof-read your letters.

First poster(and fellow Canuck), you might as well start the letter with "Dude," it isn't much worse than a stiff lipped lastname.

The second post is markedly better than the first, but still suffers from minor imperfections ("Although I'm not eligible to vote for you, but I really wish and pray that you become the next President to lead this great country"--highlights should be self explanatory; also, I'd cut down on the words "really wish" isn't any better than "wish"; "to lead this great country" is already included in the definition of "President")

Before you flame, think of this as constructive criticism, as it is intended as such. (and don't retaliate by finding mistakes in my post--there are many--I am writing for this forum, not for a Presidential hopeful)
:D :D :D

SirZ,

that was a good one. But.....even spellcheck could not have found that one out ("...built into the definition of President..").
On the question of proof reading, I thought it better to leave the job to Kerry's Assistants......

My point exactly :) those guys will just put your letter in file 13 (a.k.a garbage can) if it reads like some grade school dropout wrote it.

I would be REALLY surprised if you did not find any "non-existent spelling mistakes" and some other flaws in the petetion Rajiv filed against INS.
Anyone of us who has read the first two posts and then the third one would not find it difficult to see who is optimistic for getting the issue to whatever levels possible and who is pessimistically trying to find faults with others(with his shady knowledge of grammar).

It is because of this kind of initiatives that our law suit is now filed. If all of us had worked on finding faults with it.. then God knows.....

I think an optimistic high school dropout is a better bet than a pessimistic harward law school graduate !!!

Good move. I guess it is better we have a common representation ( online Petition) so everybody can sign electronically and forward it to Senator John Kerry. Not everybody can write an elaborate email, so this might help.

Any thoughts....

Thanks

Hand written card still has more meaning then a typed card....that why I think if we fill Kerry's inbox that would be great....Its just my way of thinking.

You gave me a good laugh : Petetion? that's the smaller one. How do you find a "non-existent" thing? Surely if it's truly non-existent then nobody could find it, on the other hand if somebody found it then it would not be "non-existent" now, would it? Based on the absurdness of being suprised of the realization of an illogicality, I can see why you took offense to my constructive criticism. Surely it must be a daily thing for you, n'est pas?

I just love the royal "we", Spokesman Gogia. It's usually a sign of weakness when someone has to hide behind "we" when presenting his/her opinion/debate point. (Unless of course you are the Queen of England, then you ARE "we".)

I respectfully disagree with your opinion. I always believed if you can't do something right, then don't do it, and if you decide to do it, then DO IT RIGHT. (Hmm, I should sell this to Adidas as a marketing slogan, Nike would eat their hearts out...but I digress)

It is my impression from your post that the first two words of this sentence are not facts. For the rest of your opinion, welcome to America, you have the right to your opinion no matter how wrong it may be. :)

Have a good day, you already made mine better by making me chuckle.

Sirz,

wish you had spent this much time to call or write someone or did some other effort towards our common goal....but you choose to reply and try to prove that you are right...does anyone cares about you, I don’t think so. We all are here for some reason not just to use this news group to waste time...Please dont reply again and just do some positive effort...thank you Sir z

You are right Kanadian,

I think we should continue doing what we think is best for us and just ignore what some "fault-finders" have to say...

BTW, I came to know that some of my colleagues at my client site have also written mass e-mails to Kerry...

Let's hope for the best!!!!!! :)

From SirZ's post...

Your quote
Based on the absurdness of being suprised of the realization of an illogicality

Isn't the correct usage 'surprised by'?
