Can you comment on the 2 cases here. Both people are using reentry permits to stay abroad and a reputable lawyer on the message board seems to think it is okay.
Why is that? If going for extended periods is risky regardless of whether the trip is temporary and the person has ties to the US - why do some lawyers think otherwise?
People also suggest that the attitude of IOs is changing and therefore at this point you can be grilled heavily at random and could be deported easily even if you did not do anything wrong.
