Do you guys happen to know the consequences of having a different (incorrect) Job title in LC application??? Would like to know how it impacts the GC processing going forward..

Many thanks..

Do you think "Programmer Analyst" and "Software Engineer" are quite different enough to land into trouble?

Consequences of having a different (incorrect) Job title in LC application?

What are you comparing? your current title with stated in LC application!!!

If that's the case and you satisfy all the condition ( skill/experience/education) as per Job requirement in LC application you should be all-right.

Following are the details regarding "Programmer Analyst" and "Software Engineer". Compare the details as well as the listing under "Alternate Titles" and decide yourself regarding trouble.

For "Software Engineer"

For "Programmer Analyst"

Thanks for your response "usnycus"...

I figured out that most of the things (skills/job reqs/..) except the actual job title are similar.

Hoping that the exact name mismatch won't be an issue.

Many thanks again...

My lawyer refused to use Software Engineer to boost me into EB2, because it mentions hardware in the description. I'm not sure how correct her dicision was, but seems work so far.

Besides, it's easier to figure out a variation, but not so when you cross two titles. The best bet is to match your title, LC title and description to DOL standard categories, word for word.

I agree with your statement; "Hoping that the exact name mismatch won't be an issue."

As long as your education/experience/skills fulfill the job requirement(s), it should be all right.

Good Luck...........

Even after Labor certification, could this be an issue in future steps of GC processing also?

If so, may be I should consider re-filing my Labor again ?????

Thanks,

Could Job title mismatch be an issue beyond LC stage of GC processing?

My current title is "Programmer Analyst" but my LC indicates "Software Engineer"... Do you think this would be an issue after my LC stage (I-140 / 485 stage ???) of GC processing..

If so, assuming that my employer is willing to change the title (based on my job requirements), is that something I should ask for?

Job Title comparision....

If DoL (or INS) were to cross-check my job title, what does they check it against? My question is: what if we use the same (word-word) title (as in LC) all along the GC processing ???

The variation we are talking about is "Sr. Software Engineer" & "Sr. Programmer Analyst".

Should I consider getting my title changed immediately or would it complicate the issue?

Thanks in advance..
