NJ, I would say you have a much better chance at getting an approval using "software Engineer" than the poster who started this thread, since YOU ARE AN ENGINEER, which the poster is not.
As an degreed engineer, you don't need to show any transcripts at the border.
All engineers work with software. Not all people who work with software are engineers.
