Job title/duty descriptions change after I-140 approved

Greetings

My Labor Cert. & I-140 was approved. (EB3, Priority Date Jul. 2002.)

Company now redefining job title and duty descriptions and will announce it in a few days.

Does it affect my I-485 when a visa number is available to me? Would my company then hesitate to provide an employment letter to verify that job mentioned in labor cert and I-140 is still available to me? My lawyer does not respond to my question.

What can I do?

Thanks for your help!

I think the best person to answer your question "whether your company will then provide an employment verification letter?" is your company. You should talk to someone in HR at your company. I know you are not looking for this as an answer. But, I don't think anyone in this forum would be able to provide an answer for you on behalf of your company.

Thanks, you are right. I will try everything I can to ask company to help me. Do you guys see any other ways to resolve this issue if company is not flexible?

How much it is changing. Because green card process takes years. If it is more then fifty percent match you are OK.

I wonder how I do this in practice. My I-485 is yet to be filed (PD Jul 2002, EB3). When I file I-485, do I turn in an employment letter then stating that I have changed to a job with similiar title/duties? In other word, are we allowed to change to similiar jobs before 180 days after I-485 filing?

Or I have to work something out with employer to at least provide an employment letter when filing I-485 stating the job I-140 and LC was based is still available at the time I-485 is filed? And then notify USCIS at least 180 after I-485 filing that I'd like to use AC21 to take a new job similiar in nature?

Thanks.

Job Promotion while my GC in Process

My GC was filed in January 2004 for the position Sr.Programmer/Analyst. And now my Designation is changing to Technical Manager in the same company. The HR department expressed concerns about hpw this will impact my GC process.I would like some one to help me understand how this change in designation going to effect my GC process.
