Job switch while on TN

I am currently working in the US on a TN Visa as a computer systems analyst. I have renewed this Visa 3 times. My current visa expires in Oct 2007. I would like to switch to a different employer under a new TN. I have a couple of questions:

1) Can I apply by mail for this new TN visa or do I have to go to the border?
2) If I do go to the border, will I be hassled for finding a new job while having renewed 3 times already?
3) If I apply by mail, can I leave the country with my existing visa or does the application become void?
4) Does anyone have any experience with how much faster the premium processing is?

1) you can apply by mail with I-129. It is usually simpler and faster to go to the border.
2) You shouldn't be.
3) You can leave and return on existing TN (as long as it is still valid) without impactiung the I-129.
4) premium processing will take max 3 weeks. Non-premium can take 4 months.
