Job search - before or after applying for I-140 visa?

After doing some research on Visa's, the best option for me wouid be the I-140, since I'm a professional worker with metalfabricating and welding etc. But, should I look for a job, before I get my green card or after?

Because, actually getting a greencard can take a while, and what if my job offer won't make it that long? And I need to prove the US I can get to work, before getting a green card, so I'm confused... Or am I missing something here?

A I-140 is approval given on a condition that the employee has to stay in the same job. So when you change the job a new I-140 is required. You can get a green card through a job offer, investment or self-petition though it will take some time. My advice is to consult an immigration lawyer for this matter, who is an expert in all areas of immigration.
