Job offers... miscelleneous questions

Hi all,

I am hoping to learn from your H1B experience. My husband found a job in the US and I am going to join him soon...well eventually. So here are my questions:

-When is the best time of the year to apply for H1B? Given that there is a cap, I am guessing that by a certain month the cap has been reached.

-Did you find your job while in the US or in your home country? Is it better to relocate and then look for a job or should I try to job something from Canada?

-Were you upfront with your employer? E.g. did you write in your cover letter/resume that you required sponsorship?

-Did you feel that your work status was a big issue when looking for employment?

-Do you work for a small, medium, or large company?

-What field are you in?

Thanks all!

For Year 2008 quota you must apply starting from April 1, 2007 cap may reash any time between April - June or earlier

-Did you find your job while in the US or in your home country? Is it better to relocate and then look for a job or should I try to job something from Canada? If you are coming with H4 you have plenty of time in US to search for a job.
-Were you upfront with your employer? E.g. did you write in your cover letter/resume that you required sponsorship? Body shopping company knows it if it is coming from outside US
-Did you feel that your work status was a big issue when looking for employment? For H1 not at all

-Do you work for a small, medium, or large company? Does not matter as far as they pay you and not putting you in bench
-What field are you in? management not in pickle industry

Thanks all!
