My I-140 was approved few months ago. This month I have I-485 interview in local office. I am trying to find out answer to one question so hoping you gurus will help me.

My employer is based in Indianapolis state and I work in NY from beginning I joined him. During interview if asked that my company is in different state how I am working in other state? Should I just say that I am assigned work in NY? What the best explanation I can give. Can you please share your expert knowledge about answering such question if asked during AOS interview.

I would appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.

The first, and most important, piece of advice I can give you is to always tell the truth. The penalties for lying are draconian, and more practically it's so much easier just to tell the truth instead of worrying about keeping your story straight.

What location is on the LC? If it specifies NY or "IN and other locations in the US" then you are fine. If not, please let us know.

Seriously, most EB interviews are straightforward. I was sponsored by a VA company while in GA, invoked AC21 twice and then was interviewed. The question of my employer's location never came up.

Thanks for the response. No. We don't have any intention of not speaking truth. I am under Schedule A so no LC but in I-140 location for my work location is mentioned as "NY" so I think there is no lying there too. Should I just say I am assigned to NY as mentioned in I-140 petition? Thanks in advance.

Ah, Schedule A. Yes, just tell them you work in NY; the job location really shouldn't come up. Having companies based in different states than the work location occurs all the time.
