I got my NIW approval and filed 485 12/2003, now I want to find a job in industry, could some one tell me how close my job has to be related to the working field I written in my NIW application?

does anybody has NIW 485 interview experience?

and does immigration officer ask about your current work field to see if it is same or related to your previous field in the application?

Thanks.

Your work has to be in NIW area (even though technically, you should get NIW even without a job). If you get called for an interview and your petition is modelled on current job (or research or whatever), you will need to continue that.

Thanks for your answer!
but do you know anybody get rejected on his/her 485 due to NIW area change?

I just do not know how they(INS) judge if you stay in the same area or not, I can imagine many NIW applicant may change their job position, e.g., from university to other university or company, since now the processing time is so slow.

No, I do not know anybody personally. Changing your job position is not that important. What is more important is that your area of NIW is maintained.
