My friend wants to join a different group within her company. Even though the new group is located on the West coast, she will still be working from her current location in VA (from where her LC was filed). The question is does the new group need to put out a new internal ad or a job requisition slip advertising the job within the company so it can be proven that there were no employees within the company who fit the job description? Is it just an internal ad or a job requisition slip or both? If the answer is yes, then does the job description need to be the exact same ad that was used to file her LC or can it be modified to reflect her new skills, experience and job requirements? Example, if her LC job description required her to have knowledge of Sitescape, then can the new description not have that requirement at all? What if the new description was to advertise Sharepoint experience which was never mentioned in the LC ad?
Please advise as this information is holding up her plans. She cannot ask her lawyer since the lawyer might inform her current HR about my friend's plans fo switching groups.
