job change after local transfer-jaxen ur advice!

hello all,
I wud like to know whether it is possible to change jobs after getting a local transfer.
1.If yes then wud my case(i-485) be transferred to that particular local office?
2.How long wud it take to transfer?
3.Do i need an attorney for the address change?
4.do u ppl know of anybody who did this and successfully got their GC?
5.how does portablility work in such a case?

ur suggestions r most welcome.

I assume that the local transfer happened after 180 days of inactivity from 485 RD.
Generally at the local transfer interview you would be asked the basic Q as to whether you are with the sponsoring employer...
If you are confident that your case has a AC21 potential, my suggestion would be to hire a lawyer who can argue the AC21 portability issue.

I am actually ahead of the 180 day mark.
ppl say that my local office has a wait time of about 1-2 months,so am actually thinking if i need to accept my job using ac-21 or wait for the GC to get approved afetr the interview.was transferred on feb 3rd.

i'm not sure of your detailed situation but why switch jobs at this point unless you are already laid-off or facing a potential lay-off?
