Job change after 180 days??

My I485 was filed on 09/12/02 with 140 receipt notice concurrently. My140 EB2 was approved later. I am currently working with my sponsoring company but may be laid off soon.

I have the following questions regarding job change:
1. If I change to a 6-month contract position (may be renewed after 6 months, who knows) with similar job duties and higher salary, will that affect my I485 approval? Any risks?
2. Should I apply for H-1 transfer or use my EAD card to work?

The answers you mentioned , are they valid for the concurrent cases as well ???? because there seems be some confusion for the people who file concurrently some people mentioning that the law is not clear for AC21 to be applied for concurrent cases even when 140 is approved.
