Jersey driver's license with valid, AP but expired I-94?

Does New Jersey renew driver's license with a current AP document but with expired I-94 (extension pending)?

You need a valid EAD card for license extension

MVC folks do not accept AP as a valid document for license renewal. If you have a valid EAD then you should be fine. They will give you 3 months of additional time from the last day on EAD card for your license.
