Hello Jaxen! I was working on H1B, applied I-485 in August 2001,
now I laid off in April 2002.
1. I'm looking for a job and having both AP and EAD. Now I have to visit India for family reasons. Is it safe to visit with valid AP?

Yes.

When U show the AP you will not be asked any questions about your employment. Although normally they will do a secondary inspection (i.e. take you to a room) , they will not question about your employment at all.
