As of 07/26 it'll be 3 months since INS (NYC) cashed my check for the forms (I-765, I-485, etc) and sent me that yellow cash register receipt. I didn't receive anything else afterwards. What should i do now? go there and apply in person for EAD? what happens to my application at the first place? do i have to pay the fee again? bring my checkbook, photograhs, etc?

U need receipt numbers

for the I765 et al. U can find them from the cancelled checks. If it more than 90 days from the date cheques were cashed (most probably the receipt date), you can get an interim EAD /AP . Just need copy of 485 receipt.

No need for any payment. But as a precaution you should take money orders for the fees (In case they are not able to locate your 765 but offer to process a new 765 seeing your innocent face :)))
