JAXEN HELP. H1/H4 Extension with pending 485

I have a situation here.

I'm on H1B expiring on 30th March - I-94 til Mar 30
My I-485 was filed last year and I have EAD and AP tile Oct 2003 but not used EAD yet.
I got married and filed for my wife's 485 in Feb. No receipt yet
My wife's H4 is valid til Mar 30 abut I-94 til June 30th.

I was institing my company to file my H1/H4 extension to be on the safer side which they had refused. Now all of a sudden they have woken up and are applying for H1/H4 extension sometime during next week.
I would like to continue working on H1 and not EAD. So what do I need to do after Mar 30. If the company applies before 30th say 20th , can I still be on H1 or need to use EAD after 30th. What constitutes a valid extended H1 status. Filing or receiving Notice ???. Can I stay on H1 after 30th if INS has received my H1 extension papers ???.

Also my lawer says that she will first apply for LCA and once approved she will file extension with INS. What does this mean.
What is LCA takes soem time and lawyer can't file to INS before 30th ??. Does filing of LCA mean filing for H1 Extension ??

Filing before expiry preserves status. If H1/h4 is denied you can switch to EAD on the date you receive the denial (contingency)
