Jaxen/Gurus, Restamping from Department?

Jaxen,
As you are aware I lost my passport, I 797 and original landing document. I was able to get back to toronto. My lawyer has been finally able to get another I 797, which should come in few days. My questions are-
1. Since I am an Indian, PR in Canada can I enter US without visa stamp and original I 797 and no Landing document IMM1000.
2. If yes, can I send my new passport to Department (St. louis)for restamping on the ground of lost passport. They did the revalidation in January 2003.
3. Will I be better off just getting stamping in Toronto from US consualte, even though they are notorious for giving tough time for H1b stamping.

You should get H1 visa stamp in the replacement passport. You need a visa to enter USA to be on H1 visa. With copies of previous visa/passport you should not face any problem in toronto
