or family. You talk about -sponsor.
If it is family based - no problem
If it is employment based- can work . But if INS asks for employment verification (again) or calls for an interview BEFORE approval then you need to hold a job in the field mentioned in LC/140 and with similar responsibilities.

By \'hold a job\' does it also mean future job offer. Thanks again.

Generally Future Job...

But the fact that you are holding a job not in your profession (for which GC has been applied) can make INS think that you have an intent to cheat.
So at the time of the interview or as a response to employment RFE it will be better to be in the job rather than hold a letter which offers a future job.
Sorry I missed your response the first time. This is my opinion.
