January 2004 - Visa Revalidation Tracking

Cashier Check

One of my friend is about to send his papers for stamping. He got cashier's checks from his room mate.On the cashier's checks his room mates account number is present. Is this a problem or need not worry who's account number is present on the checks?

Don't worry about the account number on the Cashier Checks. Some of my friends whose passports were validated earlier used Cashier Checks from others, they did not face any problems.

Make a copy of your Cashier Check and keep it with you.

Check Encashed date

Hi,
Since DC is not providing any information regarding the revalidation of HI Visa, why dont we add Check Encashed date. This will give us an approx. DC date.

ppguy's info
SL date = 12/01/2004
Check cashed = 12/17/2004

in my case
SL date = 1/7/2004
Check cashed = 1/12/2004

By looking at the above date, i can say that St. Louis had started work on my application before 1/12/2004 and it was 12/17/2004 in case of ppguy.
As far as i know, our applications should be registered as soon as our Checks are encashed.

I think this will help us all, i need your view before i add this column.

Dont worry, as it is taking approx. 3 months from SL date. In case you are not able to get any response, which nobody is getting for the last 3-4 weeks, dont worry, mostly it should be approved in the next couple of weeks or so

is W2 also required for visa revalidation

Hi All

I am sorry if I am asking this question at wrong thread. I have just received my H1 Extension approval(after 7 months wait??)
As you guys already submitted for renewal and getting approvals, can any of you suggest me what are the required docs for visa re-validation at SL/DC.

Is W2 also required? or just current payStubs enough? I have only 10months W2 as I joined in March2003( I have not used 2.5 years visa time. I came to US in Feb2003). I am worried, if I send W2 also, they may say it is less than LCA and throw query.

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

you dont need to send the w2 and paystubs if u are revalidating in sl/dc unless they ask for it.allu need is a ds156,157 and employment letter.Also make sure to use the new bar coded ds156.you can find that at htpp://www.immihelp.com.
you will find all the info on that site .like fees and documents and other info.

Received PP but no Stamping (221g)

St. Louis DC Date PP Received Date

I received my PP this morning with no stamping and reason told was my PP expiry date is less than 6 months (221g).

My PP is expiring on 09/14/04 and I knew that PP should be valid for at least six months by the time of Visa Revalidation. When I sent my documents (that wasbefore knowing about this forum and found that it was taking 3 months) I heard it takes 2 months to get the revalidation and thought I have enough time before the 6 months expiry period (which actually is 03/14/04). Unfortunately, I got my PP back today with no stamp.

I have a question here, I am already in my 7th year and have my visa valid only till 11/30/04 and also expecting my AP (got an RFE on 140 and so hoping to get it soon). WIll it be a good idea to resend the docs for the revalidation (of course after getting my new PP) or Just wait for the AP to come ? Any idea whether do we need to have our PP with us while we get our EAD or AP? Please advise.

Good news is that others in Jan'04 revalidation can expect their PPs soon. GOOD LUCK.

My date to SL is the same as yours.
