Jan04 AP Approvals with VSC - Still Waiting ??

Noticed that VSC updated their AP processing times to reflect mid March processing date.


My application for AP ( RD: Jan 7, 2004; ND: Jan 9, 2004) is still pending with VSC. Online status still says the good ole...

" Your I131 APPLICATION FOR BCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT was received on January 9, 2004. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 150 and 180 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete."

Anyone else in the same boat, who has Jan/ early Feb AP RDs, but has not heard anything from VSC.??

What recourse do we have to get moving with this one??

I have been checking daily and today after I registered on USCIS website. I was checking today too for nearly abt 5 to 6 times since morning. But checked just now (11 PM) , and I saw my last updated date change to today's date 26 May 2004 for EAD and AP.

Btw I passed 90 day mark on 24 May 2004

Even in your case the current processing date has passed your RD more than 30 days. So, you can call service center and ask to have VSC inquire what's going on with your application; however, please do not expect immediate progress. They must say that they will send you a letter to tell the result in 3 or 4 WEEKS (not days). This is what I have just heard.

Did any of U try to contact the service center regarding this ?? If so what was their response??

Strange fact is my last updated date has changed to 5/7/2004 but no change in status, whatsoever.

I, actually my lawyer, contacted VSC to ask for inquiry and was told that we would hear the result by a letter in 3 or 4 weeks. Since it was a week ago, all I can do is waiting for another couple of weeks.

Going by the response to this thread it looks like there are not many people waiting for AP from our timeframe. VSC has again updated the processing times to early April... that makes it all the more scary..

AP Waiting from Nov26th ND

2nd EAD Approved April 21st for same ND.
2nd AP still no news for same ND.

Have called USCIS and they entered an enquiry into the
system and said will hear in 30 days.

Indeed, we have very similar situation. If I remember right, you are also not concurrent filing. Based on what I read, those got their EAD approved quickly appear doing concurrent fileing. So one possible guess is that, they are dealing coccurrent filing and non-cocurrent filing differently. Maybe we are in a different queue.

I called national services center this morning. To my surprise, the lady answering my phone was actually pretty nice and patient. She took my 485/EAD/AP receipt numbers and opened a status inquiry to VSC, and told me to wait for a letter from them in a month.

We will see ...

I opened an status inquiry yesterday for AP only. I cannot do it for EAD because 30 days should have been passed from their published processing date. They are processing 10 March and so we have to wait when their processing date crosses 27 march.

R u sure the lady opened a status inquiry for ur EAD? I don't think so

what r ur receipt no. if u don't mind? u can also e-mail me if u don't like to post here

Sorry my bad for the confusion. She opened an inqury into my AP, but took all the receipt numbers for 485/EAD/AP. I'd think that since all these cases are related and depended upon each other, inquiry about one case will have impact on other cases.
 
AP Approved RD Jan 9

I had sent in an expedite request on Jan 07 and status got updated on Jan 09 stating that it was approved on Jan 08.

Coincidence ...?? or did the letter do the trick??

Can u give me the number for expedited request and can u describe the procedure, required documents and also the cover letter. I am tired of waiting. It's already 114 days.

Letter has no specific format but general guideline is it must meet one of the following needs

Humanitarian
Extreme Emergency
Severe Financial Loss
Service Error (does not apply to data entry errors)

The burden is on you to show one the above

However, I did not specify proof of any of the needs. Just specified that my approval was long due as my RD was almost 3 mos before current published processing times .

That's why I have little reason to believe that the expedite letter had anything to do with the approval..
