I had received my EAD and AP in March. I think I should be preparing for renewing them. Is anyone here in the same boat? When do you think should be the right time for filing of EAD and AP renewal. Do I have to go thru my attorney or can I do it myself? I may have to bear the expenses of attorney fees and would prefer to do it myself, if there is no risk at all.

Checked online status, it shows the standard message " is taking between 30 and 360 days for us to process ". But I called this number, (800) 375-5283. It says it cannot find the case details.

Does this mean the I140 is approved? Neither me or my lawyer did not get any letters from BCIS so far.

EAD renewal

you can file for your ead renewal 6 months before it expires. usually its good to file it 4 months before it expires. if atall bcis has problems with ur case or looses ur case, you can go to the local office after 3 months to get a temp ead.

my ead expires in early march and i've already started to put together all the paper work.

I have a question. I am waiting for my I140's approval. Recently I got married and my wife is acutally on F1 visa status. And I applied Adjustment of status for her. Prior to our marriage, she was working in her school for 20 hours a week(per F1 regulations). As she has applied for AOS recently, her student visa status is gone and her status become AOS pending. Can she continue to work 20 hours a week, as she used to work before marriage? If she works, is it treated as illegal? What is supposed to be done if she worked until she gets her EAD?

Thanks for your response. Could you please tell me what all is required to file for EAD and AP renewal. So far my case has been handled by my attorney. But I plan to file for the renewals myself, since my company won't pay attorney fees anymore.

Do you think its a simple process and could be easily done, or is it recommended to go thru the attorney?

Hi mb12345,

I haven't filed the renewal yet... but I suppose its easy. BCIS has the 765 form available with all the required information. here is a link to it...

Also, check what documentation was sent to BCIS when the first EAD was filed.

There are a lot of ppl on this forum who have renewed their EAD .. maybe it would be better to ask them also.

MD 01/13/2003.
ND 02/03/2003.
AD 10/07/2003.

Looks like they are now processing them faster.

My I140 got approved, and now it is time for EAD and Advance Parole renewal. Updating info in the excel file.
 
EAD Renewal

Hi MB12345,

I am in the same category...My EAD and Advance Parole expire in March. I am planning to go to the local INS office to get it renewed.

From what I heard, it is a day long event. Need to reach BCIS office by 7AM and then stand in line, fill a form ...they will take passport style pictures and then submit the fees and application....wait till afternoon to receive EAD/ Advance Parole

For EAC03087 - ND: 1/25/03 we have 13 I-140 cases with VSC

(Between EAC0308750001 - EAC0308750999) Edited 11/1.

Out of those 13:
5 Approved. - Last action on 9/15/03.
4 RFE sent/Recd. - Last action on 10/10/03.
4 Untouched. - Received on 1/25/03.

Have no idea how many of them are EB2/EB3/EB1. Mine is EB2 in this series and its not been touched yet. Its frustrating. :eek:

VSC 1-140 processing sucks BIG time.
