Finally my wait is over. I posted few days back about my I-485 approval, but my wife case was still pending. Its approved now.

I am going to Newak on 06/23/04 (Wednesday) for stamping
Never contacted any senator, called BCIS a few times to check on status, but the standard response of official date to be min 30 days ahead my RD (which never happened so far)
It was a bumpy ride all along, but all well that ends well. This site is great and so is Rajeek Khanna (I called him couple of times for general suggestions, though he was not my lawyer)
