jamaica and DR - no visa

hey this is great news. I always wonder where to go for vacation (not that I ever end up going). Thank you!
Jamaica is the real promised land. The Jews and Palestinians should be fighting for it instead of the desert land they kill each other for :D

It's not about land. It's a human nature to kill and fight. But generally: good idea :)

Even though you don't need an RTD or visa to enter Jamaica, I would recommend asylees to take their RTDs for re-entry to the USA. You don't want to appear at a port of entry without an RTD. I shudder to think what would happen.

I think asylee needs RTD but don't need VISA. Thats what ianyu said. Travel without RTD is like travel back home - trouble.

Oh... I misunderstood. Thanks for the explanation ayyubov.

I checked both sites and did not see anywhere stating that an RTD is enough.. I'd be wary and call them before you book your next vacation..It just says Travel Documents.

i emailed both Jamaican and DR embassies but both emails returned :( if someone gets to talk to them let us know, it would be nice ot know for sure if we dont need visas top go there for real.

BTW, yesterday I called to Mexican Consulate in Boston and asked about visa for asylees. The lady asked what was the color of my travel document. I said it was green and she answered that I don't need any visa to get to Mexico!!!

I'd be careful, she probably thinks you have a green card. sounds stupid I know.. you should go to their website and get the official word. Some nationals of certain countries require a special Visa that could take up to 2 months to get.

Green? My RTD's were all blue color

My current is expired already. I got it in february 2003.

Do not quote me on this, but I think last year they completely changed the format of the RTD to make it harder to fake. So the new version is green, mayble?

Hm... That's interesting... The country of my origin is in the list. I specifically mentioned that I am an asylee. The purpose of my trip is participation in the student contest, but it's very likely that I won't have four weeks for approval since I don't have my RTD yet. I hope to get it at the beginning of July. I wonder how can they be so incompetent if they distinguish all travel documents by the color?

Ha! Dude, where are you from? (rhetorical question)
Where I am from, this would be the highest form of competence. people are so incompetent and rude...just your normal third world procedure.

their embassies d not reply to my emails. you would have to call them, i guess. please share the info. thx:)
