J1 Waiver Requirements

Hi,
I need to apply for a Waiver under the No Objection condition, what procedures or steps do I need to follow and what documents do I need to present to apply for the waiver? If anybody knows these or knows a web site where I can find all these, please let me know

J-1 Waiver information

Hello friend

Getting J-1 Waiver Consists of two steps of paper work.

First one is getting NORI Clearances from Indian Central and State Governments. The details about the procedure can be seen on this website

After receiving the NORI clearances from India the second step starts, which involves paper work with U.S.A. Governments.( USDOS & USCIS ) Among the so many websites available, I found the following website very informative and easily understandable because they have provided a graphic depiction of the US Government procedure involved.

First, not everybody is from India. Therefore, not everyone requires NORI clearances from Indian government.

Second, you may consider giving out the government website link to waiver application procedure in addition to the link you provide (which offers a good overview of the procedure but has outdated links).
 
Check your country's embassy website. I've found all the info there and with help of the administrator I submitted everything to them. Then the embassy contacted the governmental branch in my home country to issue a waiver. Once the waiver was issued, the embassy sent it to US State Dept. The only problem was that State Dept lost my file, so now I'm in process of reestablishing it :mad: . Anyway, start with you embassy and go from there. Good luck with State Dept.
 
Need help to get NORI from India

Hi I am Prakash from Atlanta GA. I need help to get NORI from India. I have attested my NORI forms from Indian Consulate, Houston, TX. Now I need to send these forms to India to get NORI. I am from Karnataka and my passport is issued from Bangalore. Pls some one give me the addresses where I should send these 3 forms and what are the documents I should along with the forms. I also like to have some covering letters. My e-mail address is gprakash@ece.gatech.edu ...kindly help me....Prakash

You need to send it to Principal secretery (home ministry) of Karnataka, Passport officer, Bangalore and HRD ministry, Delhi. A general covering letter requesting to issue NORI is sufficient. I have the right address..will dig it out and e-mail it to you later (I went through this about 4 years back). You need to send copies of your passport, degree certificates (including SSLC marks list) along with the application and covering letter.
