Hello,

I worked as a Marketing Trainee in the US with a J1 visa. My program was for 18 months but my company terminated my program in my 11th month. So, I had to go back to my country. My visa is still valid until July,2009. I want to waive my J1 but, I'm not sure if I'm already late for it? Has anybody got an idea how long it will take to get the "No Objection"?
I would like to work in the US again because my traineeship took shorter than I expected. So, will this early termination of the traineeship be an advantage if I apply for a new J1 in the future?

I will greatly appreciate your help.
Thanks!

You can try applying for a tourist visa.

It took me 2 months to get the NOS from my home country, Philippines and I am still waiting for my waiver from DOS. It's taking a while so I guess your best bet is to try to apply for a tourist visa. I also recommend talking to an immigration lawyer.

Best of luck!

its take 4-6 months

Sorry for that, See J1 waiver will take 4 to 6 months. Its depend on how they work to issue ur no objection and state department in US.

good luck
