J1 waiver - India

Hi All,
I am in the process of getting my J1 waiver. I submitted all my attested documents to the Indian Consulate in New York and they forwarded a waiver letter to the Indian Embassy in DC.
Is there any way to know if the Indian Embassy sent the waiver letter to the US Department of State?
I have tried calling the embassy but no one answers.

You can check your status in the DOS web site and see if the NOC is submitted or not.
For my case NOC was received by DOS on Nov 10th, but the case is pending.
Some one said it takes 6-8 weekd for DOS to recommend and their 4 months for USCIS to approve.
Please let me know your present status as I am almost in the same situation as yours.
