J1 waiver and security check

Hi,
It was one year ago that i submitted my i-612 for j1 waiver based on persecution/hardship. Recently, i requested the status of my application and i was notified that my case is delayed due to security check.
anyone with similar experience?
I have approved i-140 bur pending i-485.

dear dovictim ,i can understand your concerns as my case for j1 waiver is salso pending with uscis for 7 months.do you have any idea how to expedite security clearance /name check process???

at what level of the processing is the security clearance done.

1) Initial USCIS level
2) DOS level
3) Final USCIS level when DOS sends them favorable recomendations

that is interesting. I thought it would be one of the first two stages -USCIS intial processing -DOS level and not the final step.

The reason I say that is because there are users on the forum who had their H1 processed based only on DOS approval. Why would USCIS extend immigration benifit w/o security check if it is linked to the final notice at USCIS.
