Please help.. I am running out of time for my waiver application. My three years on J1 visa are about to get over in Nov. The DoS is about to start reviewing my case.. I think getting the final notice from INS before my visa expiration would be really borderline case for me..
1. My office told me I can apply for another six-month extension beyond the 3 years. But I need to do this before DoS starts reviewing my case. would getting this extra extension adversely affect my waiver application in any way??
2. If I receive a favorable recommendation for DoS but INS is yet to send out the final notice when my visa expires.. can I still stay back in US till I get the final waiver?? I have a job offer and I plan to start processing the H1B as soon as the DoS recommendation comes through..
