Is it it possible to stay beyond the expiration date of your J-1 visa on an H1-B exempt? I have been told that the profit company I work for can joint sponsor this along with a non-profit organization. I am in the process of applying for an H1-B which I can them transfer onto after October 1st.
This appears to be my only option for continuing my stay in the US. Otherwise I will have to leave and return after October 1st once the H1B has been approved.
Does anyone have any info on this?
