J1 short term

Hi,
In Feb I came back to india after 2yrs of postdoc using J1 (research scholar). So, if I need to go again on research scholar thing then there is a 24month ban!. Is it possible to go for a short term J1 for 3-5 months period?

In addition to the 2 year home residency rule there is also a 1 year ban to get a new J1 after completing a J cycle, so you would be subject to that even if the 2 year HRR doesn't apply.
