 I am resident physician and currently on J1 visa. I am married to a US citizen. Is it possible to get a waiver right now or even getting a green card or any other option to get out of J1? Also, there is a myth that physicians on J1 visa, cannot moonlight in any jobs either in/outside of the parent hospital, is that true? Your valuable answers would be appreciated. Thanks !!

unfortunately, u can't avoid having to either go back for 2 years or obtaining a waiver of HRR. if married to a US citizen, u can apply for a hardship waiver though it is hard to get one. check with a lawyer to see if u r eligible.
regarding moonlighting on a J1- ecfmg states that "u may receive compensation for work that is part of the designated training program." one might choose to read between the lines.
